Item Description

A very rare combination specimen from the famous N'Chwaning II Mine. We have never seen a shigaite on barite combination piece. Lustrous, translucent, brick-red, hexagonal, shigaite prisms to 8 mm are aesthetically set on the matrix of parallel-growth, translucent and colorless, barite blades. Some damage to the hosting matrix of the barite blades is noted. Regardless, this remains a very showy and very rare combination of ultra-rare shigaite on barite. And, up close, it is gorgeous and unusual for this contrast!
