Item Description

This is a most unusual specimen, as I have seen very few examples from this small quarry in Iowa. It is a cabinet plate with lustrous, waxy, sharp crystals of siderite. They have a nice chocolate-brown color to them. Although there is some minor damage here and there, it is overall a big and impressive piece, and a very interesting locality example of this species. Minor scalenohedral white calcite is in association
