Item Description

Tighly intergrown crystals of highly compressed rhombic Siderite make up the display side of this attractive near cabinet sized specimen. The crystals have a golden-brown hue with a semi vitreous luster than can be seen when the piece is rotated in the light. The largest crystal measures 1.5 cm across, and the piece is damag free, save the periphery where it was removed from the pocket. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1231). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
