Item Description

A classic and choice CABINET siderite specimen from the famed Poudrette Quarry at Mt. St-Hilaire. Two, large, lustrous, yellowish-brown intergrown siderite rhombs and a beautifully placed isolated rhomb are very dramaticsally set on mounded matrix of small albite crystals. The large rhomb is 4.5 cm on the diagonal on the front and 3.5 cm deep on the top edge. The frosted rhombs have translucent edges. The large and isolated rhombs are totally pristine, with the intergrown rhomb on the right having out-of-sight contacting on the back. These are impressive and large siderite crystals for the renowned locale.
