Item Description

When you see a pyrrhotite these days, you pretty much assume it is from Russia - or perhaps Mexico. But this is an old Brazilian one from a working gold mine believe it or not, out of the collection of Harold Urish. An elegant "corsage" of translucent, yellow-brown, flattened siderite rhombs is aesthetically perched on intergrown, lustrous and iridescent, hexagonal, pyrrhotite crystals. The pyrrhotite has a fine bronzy luster. Excellent and uncommon combination material from the famous Morro Velho Mine. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
