Item Description

Siderite and quartz combinations are quite rare from this historic mining district, especially in this quality. Intergrown, lustrous, translucent, goldenrod-yellow, rhombs to 3.8 cm on the diagonal accented with scattered quartz crystals form an impressive 3-sided piece. Some of the quartz crystals are broken and a bit of modest edge wear is noted to the siderite rhombs, but is certainly a slight detraction. Uncommon and excellent material from this locale from the Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection. Acquired from the F. Krantz Collection in 1972 for 150 Swiss francs.
