One of the best localities for Native Silver in thew orld is Kongsberg, Norway. This classic mining district dates back nearly 400 years, and produced some of the most impressive and recognizable specimens of wire Silver and crystallized ever found. This particular specimen is an attractive small cabinet sized piece featuring an attractive crystallized group of Silver with a lovely patina associated aesthetically sitting on matrix. There are additional sparkling Silver crystals lying flat against the matrix as wll. It's certainly an attractive piece and would make a great addition to a suite of native elements, or a collection of European classics. You don't see many matrix Silvers from Kongsberg on the market these days, especially on matrix. Valued at $2,000-$2,500 retail. The piece comes from the collection of Brian Kosnar.
