Item Description
An attractive piece from this old Spanish locality featuring dozens of elongated Silver crystals plus dendritic formations, and even a few rarely seen WIRES which are intermixed to create a "bird's nest"-esque group on Calcite matrix. This piece came out in the mid 2010s, when a local collector was able to liberate some specimens from the dumps of this historic mine. The Balcoll Mine was worked as far back as the middle ages, so the fact that anything remained (even on the dumps) is amazing. A wonderful display specimen with great character and aesthetics. I have photographed several of the Silver crystals under high magnification to show their unique form. Ex Brian Kosnar collection.
