Item Description

GORGEOUS, curled clusters of Silver wires with a bright patina are perfectly dispersed across a heavy matrix of eerily iridescent, purplish-blue Bornite. This fine and delightful combination specimen is from the famous San Martin Mine of Mexico, which has been in operation since about 1555. Adding to the significance of this combination is lustrous and iridescent Chalcopyrite along the back, which instantly creates an highly aesthetic, 360 degree miniature. Another way to look at this outstanding miniature is that it literally is a dozen delightful Silver thumbnails all rolled into one marvelous piece. And if the sheer beauty of the Silver wasn't enough, the juxtaposition of the Silver against blues, purples, golds, and reds makes this a visual treat. Old material!
