Item Description

A RARE style, exotic and very rich silver in quartz from this old Copper Country mine, that was active from 1856 to 1888. Brightly burnished, unusual looking quartz-casted silver is dramatically embedded on both sides of this sculptural small cabinet. The shiny silver casts look like feathers embedded in the granular milky quartz vein. The bit of RARE embedded green epidote or prehnite is a fine accessory and contrast. This striking rarity was collected by Dan Latvis and purchased in 1991. The bright patina is caused by etching the silver out of the enclosing quartz vein. Hefty super-rich silver ore with 217 grams mass. Silver specimens are RARE from the Mass Mine and this is a possibly unique style. Valued at $2000-3000.
