Item Description
Showy and rich large 2-generation solid smithsonite from Tsumeb. The sculptural and impressive mounded cluster of intergrown beige-colored, lustrous and translucent smithsonite rhombohedrons, to 1.9 cm on the diagonal, with satin luster faces rests atop an earlier generation of densely intergrown, very glassy, mostly transparent colorless smithsonite rhombs. The beige crystals are in great shape, with just a couple of bruised crystals noted. The lower periphery wear on both sides is noted. This remains a very rich and highly representative large example of two smithsonite color varietals from the famed locale.
