Item Description

Pretty powder-blue, waxy luster, translucent, bubbly smithsonite botryoids cover the matrix on this colorful and excellent example from the Choix. The banded smithsonite layer is 3-5 mm thick. This is fine older material, from the 1970s or 80s, from the El Refugio Mine at Choix. Classic material from this mined out locale, that was documented in a 2011 Mineralogical Record Mexico Special Issue.
