Item Description

Juicy, translucent, apple-green smithsonite botryoids and beautiful contrasting radial sprays of tiny, glassy, colorless hemimorphite blades line numerous vugs on all sides of the sculptural matrix on this classic and showy old combination from the famous 79 Mine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2711 and acquired from Scott Williams in November, 1962. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic 79 Mine cuprian smithsonite with hemimorphite.
