Smithsonite (Ruggiero Coll.)

Item Description

Very sharp and large (up to 2.5 cm on the diagonal) rhombohedrons of yellowish-tan smithsonite. The luster is very good, and the main crystals are virtually ding-free. Periphery wear along the edges of the specimen is noted, but it is trivial. The display face is pristine save for a contact on the lower-right crystal. A hefty piece, as the matrix is massive, glassy cerussite and sulfides. Ex Ed Riggiero Collection. Purchased from the Zweibels in 1976.
