Item Description

The famous Quartz specimen from Hallelujah Junction are among the most well-known examples of the species from any locality in the United States. This small cabinet is a fantastic "floater" with no point of attachment, showing a predominant scepter habit crystal that plays host to a smaller secondary Quartz crystal, both of which are doubly-terminated. The largest Quartz crystal has a rich smoky hue through the majority of the prism which transitions into a lighter, almost "Citrine-esque" hue with excellent nearly water clear transparency. The smaller secondary crystal shows a combination of a milky white hue on one end that quickly changes into a light smoky color throughout the rest of the crystal. The white end of the crystals was obviously contacted at one point, but has completely re-crystallized ("re-healed"), and is fully terminated. The piece is in excellent condition and truly looks better in person than the photos might indicate. There are no repairs on the piece, which is not terribly common for this material, as many of them have to be glued back together. A wonderful example of these fantastic display quality Quartz specimens from the California / Nevada border. The given locality is the 5:00 Shadow Pocket, which was collected on June 19, 2019. Valued at $750.
