Item Description

High quality smoky quartz specimens are rare and mineral specimens of any species are uncommon from the pegmatites in this area. This is a sculptural large pair of parallel-growth, sharply terminated crystals with light smoky color. The highly lustrous translucent crystals have glass-clear faces with gemmier terminations. This is rare complete all-around and essentially pristine specimen. The very trivial large termination bruise, contacting to two sides were other crystals once lay, but with no damage, per se and the bruised area to the smaller crystal side are noted, but have minimal impact to the overall high quality of this piece. Choice and rare smoky quartz from the Sanabria Collection, that was illustrated in 1999, Vol 7, # 3 of Revista de Minerales.
