Item Description

A striking, large smoky quartz crystal with facinating architecture from an obscure Swiss locale - the Burg - Fiesch Glacier area. The upper portion of the crystal is beautifully water-clear with rich smoky color. The tiered growth and notches are stunning and fabulous, making the piece. Some faces are gem-clear, while others are coated with green, microcrystalline chlorite The highly variable bright luster reflects the crystal faces, with and without chlorite. The translucent base is contacted, but appears to be totally healed. Complete all-around and pristine. An amazing 360-degree smoky from a locale where specimens of any species are rare. An outstanding and rare smoky quartz crystal from the extensive Swiss collection of Howard Belsky. Valued at $1250-1500 for quality and rarity.
