Item Description

A dramatic and aesthetic smoky quartz specimen from recent finds in the Andes Mountains. A striking, sharply terminated, translucent, smoky quartz skycraper towers above the matrix of flat-lying smokies and mounded, etched microcline crystals. The sculptural quality of the complete all-around smoky, with the sidecar crystals, stepped-growth faces and high luster is breathtaking. Ex Dave Stoudt Collection # 826. Dave lived and worked in Argentina in the oil industry and established good contacts there with collectors. He purchased this piece in Buenos Aires in 2002, according to his label.
