Smoky Quartz with Chlorite (Belsky Coll.)

Sparkly, microcrystalline chlorite preferentially coats and lightly etches the sharp termination faces and lightly dusts the prism faces on this excellent water-clear, quartz crystal with fine smoky color from an unknown Swiss locale. The base of the crystal is contacted, but has no damage, per se and is coated with chlorite. This beautiful crystal is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only very trivial side wear. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. A classic and fine specimen of this varietal from the well known suite amassed by Belsky as a dealer and collector before his untimely passing in 1987.
