Item Description

A hard to find gemmy Smoky Quartz crystal with a moving water bubble inclusion from Cong Ly. The crystal is very well-formed, sharp, lustrous and shows a mix of colorless and smoky hues, but it has an internal skeletal growth below the surface which causes small chambers to form where water was trapped during crystallization. Looking toward the termination, you can see not one, but TWO moving water bubbles. The largest bubble measures 1.2 cm, which is very good sized for the locality. When you rotate the Quartz crystal 180 degrees, you can easily see the bubbles moving. The piece is in great shape as there is no major damage anywhere. A unique and eye-catching Quartz specimen that will make one collector very happy. Valued at $900. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection.
