Item Description

A great classic specimen of the famous and hard to find Sodalites from Monte Somma next to Mt Vesuvius. A vug of soft blue color, sharp, well-formed Sodalite crystals is associated with bladed green "Ripidolite" (a synonym for Clinochlore. The piece is beautiful to view up close, and this particular association is rare in my experience with this material. Don't miss out on this wonderful historic specimen from this world famous locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6005). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
