Item Description

Sorensenite is a very rare Na-Sn-Be-silicate unique to four localities in the exotic alkaline igneous rocks of the famous Ilimaussaq complex of Greenland. The complex is the Type Locality for many rare species and Kvanefjeld is the Co-type Locality for Sorsensenite. Silky lustre, translucent, pretty pastel-pink to milky (altered) lathes comprise this showy and rare two-sided thumbnail. A showy and excellent 100% sorensenite thumbnail.
