Item Description

Spangolite is one of the great rarities of the American southwest, and specimens are incredibly difficult to obtain. This is a lovely and colorful miniature specimen from the Bingham area featuring acicular "sprays" of green Brochantite with gorgeous blue-green Spangolite on matrix. The piece looks beautiful up close, and if you collect secondary copper minerals or minerals of New Mexico, you need to have one of these in your collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9102). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
