Gemmy and lustrous, burnt orange spessartine garnets to 5 mm richly cover the mounded feldspar matrix on this showy and excellent specimen from recent finds at Tongbei, China. The lustrous, translucent, partially garnet-coated, smoky quartz crystals growing in opposing directions are a super accent. A very trivial bit of termimation wear is hardly noticeable on two of the smokies and the periphery wear is a modest detraction to the overall context of this striking specimen. Highly representative combination material from this noted locale.
