Item Description

Spessartine ranks second to rhodonite as the most attractive silicate from the famous Broken Hill deposit. This large, sharp, highly lustrous, textbook dodecahedron is partially translucent and glows with bands of yellow-orange to cherry-red to reddish-brown, when backlit. A large, excellent and highly representative example of the species with only modest periphery wear. Most of the contacting is out-of-sight. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
