A beautiful rich burnt-orange thumbnail spessartine dodecahedron from an unknown pegmatite in Conselheiro Pena. Older spessartines of this fine color and form are RARE from here. The crystal has gorgeous translucence that compliments the lustrous frosted prism faces. Pristine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 10151 and acquired in August, 1983. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
