Spessartine Garnet on Microcline

Textbook dodecahedral, gemmy and lustrous, deep cherry-red, spessartine garnets to 1.3 cm are aesthetically vertically clustered on the sculptural, starkly contrasting sharply crystallized microcline matrix on this showy, highly representative specimen from recent finds in Pakistan. A few bruised garnets are noted, but are only a very modest detraction. The gemmy quality and color of these garnets are definitely a step above the average for the locale.
