Item Description

Gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, reddish-orange spessartine garnets are very aesthetically scattered in isolation on the layered, laminated feldspar matrix and are protected by the glassy,2.1 cm, smoky quartz "tower" with preferentially frosted/etched faces. This is an excellent combination specimen with uncommon discrete spessartines from Tongbei. The spessartines reach 6 mm and have textbook trapezohedral crystal form. The spessartine crystal quality and isolation, combination with the smoky quartz and overall aesthetics easily rank this piece among the very best, that we have offered at auction from Tongbei. Ex Jack Halpern Collection.
