Item Description
An impressive full-sized cabinet specimen from the famed Shigar Valley of Pakistan featuring a handful deep red trapezohedral crystals of Spessartine Garnet with highly reflective faces measuring up to 1.5 cm across, sitting on prismatic, richly colored Smoky Quartz prisms, and soft beige colored blocky Microcline matrix. The Spessartines are in very good condition, though I can see a small nick on the front corner of the main group. I love the composition of the piece as the contrast agains the Smoky Quartz and Microcline creates a wonderful visual experience, and the excellent Spessartines just top it off. Former Herb Obodda dealer stock, valued at $3200 over ten years ago, and worth more today, as these particular pieces are not nearly as common on the market as they were earlier this century.
