Item Description

Splendent, jet-black, twinned sphalerite crystals with striking stepped-growth faces comprise all sides of the rich and showy solid specimen from Santa Eulalia. Mineral specimens are very uncommon from this less well-known West Camp mine and this is an excellent sphalerite. Sparkly drusy micro calcites are a fine accessory and contrast. Some of the crystal faces are cleavages, but this remains an exceptionally rich and fine example of the species and locale. Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named.
