Item Description

Exceptional sphalerite combination specimens from the 1990s finds at the famous Los Remedios Mine at Taxco are well-known. This striking large piece features a well-placed, 3.5 cm, lustrous, sphalerite twin at the end of mounded matrix of glassy, faintly amethystine quartz crystals. A stacked cluster of etched, light lilac, fluorite octahedrons, smaller sphalerites and field of sparkly pyrite microcrystals are outstanding accents. This fine piece displays well from several angles, as you can see. Essentially pristine. Choice material from the Larry Krause dealer stock. Taxco was the subject of an extensive article in the recent Mexico VI Special Issue of the Mineralogical Record, Vol. 42, # 5 (September-October, 2011).
