Item Description

The Berzelius Mine is an old Copper producer that closed back in 1924, so this piece most likely over 100 years old. It features a group of fine quality, very sharp, lustrous, gemmy, golden-honey colored Sphalerite crystals measuring up to 5 mm across sitting on massive opaque Sphalerite matrix. A great old time specimen with beautiful crystals! If you collect sulfides, historic specimens or worldwide Sphalerites, don't miss out on this attractive piece from a classic locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4780). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
