From the Ticlio Mine in Peru, this rich cluster is, top to bottom, almost 100% Sphalerite crystals of several colors. The largest Sphalerite crystal reaches nearly a full 3 cm, and the superb, adamantine luster is noteworthy even in dim light. Some of the edges and faces display twinning features, and the internal, honey-colored flashes show just how gemmy the crystal are and how appealing the color is. Very minor edge wear. This small cabinet piece is a fine representation of the Sphalerites from this old find at a mine location that is seldom seen today. Such old material, in good condition and with large gemmy crystals like this, is seldom seen for sale. Valued $750-1000.
