Item Description

George Feist assembled an excellent and extensive collection of classic, old-time, Tri-State District specimens and this a very aesthetic and fine combination example. A very sharp, 2.6 x 2.5 cm, moderately lustrous, twinned, dark gray sphalerite crystal is dramatically perched atop mounded chert matrix covered with pretty pastel-pink dolomite rhombs. The rich peppering of iridescent, golden chalcopyrite crystals is a classic compliment. The sphalerite is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only barely noticeable edgewear. Fine combination material with outstanding display quality. Ex Feist # 2856.
