Item Description

Multiple well-formed, very lustrous, sharp, GEMMY, rich honey-orange colored Sphalerite crystals measuring up to 3 mm are scattered on the underlying matrix. Many of the crystals are pristine and beautiful to view up close. I've never had a piece of this material to offer, and for the color and gemminess I can say it's a superb example as the few I've seen in photos are typically dark and not nearly as gemmy. If you collect Sphalerites, sulfides or minerals of Germany, don't miss out on this rarely seen locality specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12438). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
