Item Description

Please note: This piece came with a small handwritten scrap of paper that said it was from the "Kanjiwan" Mine in China. I'm not 100% certain of the locality, so please keep this in mind when bidding. If anybody has a bit more insight as to where this piece might be from, please let us know. The specime features attractive, sharp, well-formed, very gemmy, rich "Ruby Jack" colored Sphalerite crystals measuring up to 3 mm sitting on and partially included in a single, GEM quality, prismatic Quartz crystal. Additionally, there are some thin acicular crystals of what I believe to be a sulfide / sulfosalt inside the Quartz crystal as well. Very attractive up close. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
