For a long time, the only reliable source of facet grade Spinel was the Mogok area of Myanmar, along with various localities in Sri Lanka, but these new Tanzanian stones have really bolstered the supply of material worldwide. This particular stone is a superb "modified elongated cushion" cut gem with a fiery pinkish-red hue and eye-clean clarity!
