Item Description

An elegant and sculptural matrix silver miniature from the famous early 1980s finds at the New Nevada Mine. A 2.5 cm spinel-twinned spear with an acanthite coating dramatically rises up from the contrasting calcite and country rock matrix. The base of spear has a bright patina and classic feathers. This very fine 360-degree cutie hosts more spinel-twins, including a coated herringbone cluster and isolated spinel-twins on the back side with a nice patina. This exemplary and classic Batopilas matrix miniature is from the Rukin Jelks Collection, a very well-known Arizona rancher and collector, who passed away in 2014.
