Item Description

Delicate filagrees of elongated spinel-twinned silver crystals are partially etched out of the enclosing calcite matrix on this sculptural and showy miniature from older, 1960s to early 70s finds at Batopilas. The specimen and the crystals are enhanced by the variable patina, from iridescent silvery/coppery to black, acanthite-coated. Classic and excellent material from the Jaime Bird Collection.
