Item Description

A striking, biomorphic, silver specimen from the well-known early 1980s finds at Batopilas. The herringbone-patterned, spinel-twinned wires look like a fantasy skeletal figure with a cap (acanthite) holding a bag (acanthite crystals) in each hand. The acanthite-coated backbone, ribs and two legs are plainly visible above the skirt of silver crystals at the base. The angled "ears" add character and a bit of calcite matrix props the figure up. The form and aesthetics of this fine piece are other-worldly. Valued at $600.
