Item Description

This is a classic, good sized gemmy Kunzite crystal from Afghanistan. It's a sharp and well-formed crystal with that classic "sword"-shaped termination. The piece features gentle golden and pink/lilac hues, and looks good in reflected light as well as being backlit. Additionally, the crystal is doubly-terminated, as the base was at one point broken, but fully re-crystallized "re-healed", and you can clearly see little crystal faces when you look at it with a loupe. You rarely see such well-formed doubly-terminated Kunzite crystals from any locality, as they are often heavily etched, so their original crystal form no longer can be seen. The form and gemminess make this piece a great example from this most prolific gem producing region. A very attractive representation of this classic material. It's important to note that good crystallized Kunzites are literally only found in a few places on earth (Brazil, San Diego County and Afghanistan) in any real quantity. Valued at $950.
