Item Description

Fine crystals of gem quality Spodumene are not easy to find from most localities. Typically the crystals are either etched, or translucent at best, but when you find a piece like this with excellent sharp, smooth, well-formed faces, along with "chisel"-shaped terminations and nearly WATER-CLEAR clarity (at least in the upper portion), it's really something specie. Some of the finest examples of crystallized Spodumene are those from the various pegmatite localities in Afghanistan. This piece is a wonderful example of this now classic material. The crystals have a very light greenish-yellow hue and wonderful reflective luster on all sides. I can't find any damage, outside of the base where it was removed from the pocket wall. It's difficult to truly illustrate the quality in a video, but it's very nice in person. Specimen weight is 96.7 grams.
