Star Garnet (large stone!)

Item Description

Garnets are often seen in cut stones and sometimes in cabochons, but the "4-rayed Star" effect that is seen in this material is not very common. The "Oval Cabochon" cut stone has a VERY deep reddish-purple color and is nearly opaque, so you need to put it under a strong light for the "star" to show up, but it is a unique gem (and one of the LARGEST I have seen), and you don't see these very often on the market.
