A fine quality and impressive specimen of Stellerite from Pune, India featuring a spherical group of white / colorless, translucent crystals on a bit of basalt matrix. I think it's safe to say that the finest Stellerites ever found come from India, both in terms of size and quality. This piece is very good quality all around, and certainly a must have for any fan of minerals from the Deccan Trap. From the collection of the beloved mineral dealer and collector Rock H. Currier (1940-2015) who was the long-time owner of Jewel Tunnel Imports. Collection #RHC3862. Rock travelled the world in search of mineral specimens, and built and impressive collection over his lifetime. He was one of the more colorful and unforgettable figures in the mineral world.
