Item Description

A facinating, most unusal-looking, CABINET combination specimen from the noted Baia Sprie Mine of Romania. Tan nubby aggregates of cream-colored siderite rhombs and nifty, tiny, radial sprays of scintillating stibnite blades strikingly coat intergrown radial sprays of quartz crystals. Both the siderite and stibnite clusters preferentially coat one side of the quartz crystals. Interesting chemistry here. A few broken quartz crystals are noted, but certainly have minimal impact on the overall quality of this most unusual and showy specimen. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection. Older, uncommon material from the 1980s valued at $600-750.
