Item Description

OUTSTANDING Stibnite specimen for a Mexican piece, from the famous and ancient San Martin Mine in Zacatecas, whose production dates all the way back to 1555. Stibnite crystals are known for their silvery, bright luster, but these Stibnites are about as bright and reflective as I have seen for the species. Up to 2 cm in length, the Stibnites are both radiating and jackstraw as they sit on a bed of small, well-formed Calcite crystals. Naturally, the Calcites have good fluorescence, and together these two species create a dazzling and aesthetic combination piece. If Chinese, of course it would not be significant - they are common enough. But, Mexican stibnites are ungodly rare and for those who care and value them, this is an important specimen.
