Item Description

Sprays of brilliant metallic stibnite lathes to about 1.5 cm attractively and richly cover the quartz point matrix on this rare and most excellent combination specimen from this former open-cast Au-Ag-Pb-Hg mine. Fine stibnite specimens are in general, rare, from California with MINDAT listing way over 100 localities for the species, but showing only 19 photographs. The matrix plate is banded quartz/chalcedony. Quartz is very uncommon from this mine and matrix stibnite specimens are RARE. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased from Runner's Minerals in 1990. A MUST for the locality or species collector. Valued at $1000.
