Item Description

An incredibly rare specimen of Stibnite from the famous mining area around Neudorft, which is best known for producing lead and silver, but antimony is RARE in my experience. In fact, this is the ONLY specimen of Stibnite that I've seen from Neudorf. We're all familiar with the famous Galean specimens showing the classic cuboctahedral habit on greenish Siderite, but if you collect German minerals or worldwide Stibnites, this is a TREMENDOUS opportunity to pick up a specimen that is virtually impossible to obtain on the market. You can only find specimens like this in old collections. Sharp, lustrous, silvery, bladed crystals of Stibnite in semi-"spray"-like groups with white stubby Quartz crystals matrix. It's a fairly good quality Stibnite on a worldwide scale, but it's the locality that really matters here. One simply does not see these specimens for sale, don't miss out!! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6894). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
