Stilbite-(Ca) (fine quality) (ex Rich Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A beautiful group of pastel golden colored Stilbite-(Ca) sheaves, some of which have formed attractive "bow tie"-shaped aggregates very aesthetically intergrown to create this three-dimensional display specimen. The two most notable qualities of the specimen are the excellent surface luster, and the wonderful internal gemminess. When backlit, you can see the light radiating within the Stilbite groups, and some of the smaller crystals are nearly transparent. The piece is in great shape overall as it's crystallized on all sides. It's nearly a complete "floater", but there is a bit of attached white Mordenite on the back. The largest Stilbite bow tie measures 3.9 cm long. Indian Zeolites may still be fairly common on the market, but you cannot deny the fact that they are colorful, attractive, highly displayable and several of them are the finest examples of their respective species extant !
