Item Description

Hard to find semi-spherical, light yellow colored, lustrous groups of Stilbite measuring up to 1.5 cm across which are sitting on Quartz matrix. The sides along with the underside of the piece show "casts" of Quartz after prismatic Anhydrite crystals which have dissolved away. Good quality, rare on the market and certainly worth picking up if you collect Alpine minerals. Most people don't think about zeolites when it comes to Alpine "kleft" localities, and they are worth picking up if you collect this kind of material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10503). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
